We’re thrilled to unveil exciting enhancements in eDirectory 13.6, designed to streamline how you gather data from your website users. One standout addition in this version is the new clone feature for Custom Pages and Listing Templates. This powerful tool will save you time and effort, making it easier than ever to create and manage your pages and listings.
Custom Page
Creating custom pages for specific listing categories in eDirectory enables you to showcase targeted content and enhance user navigation. This feature is especially valuable for highlighting specific business types or services, such as restaurants, shops, or professional services. Building on the process outlined in our previous article, you can now easily clone custom pages, making it faster and more convenient to replicate and customize content for your site.
Note: Default pages such as home, article, results cannot be cloned. Only the extra pages you create are eligible for cloning.
To create custom content you need to:
1. Upon logging on as Site Manager, open the Design and Customization tab located on the left side of the screen.
2. Once you open Content Manager, click on Add New Page.
3. Then, type the Page Name;
4. Edit the Custom Content widget to add your own custom content to the page;
5. Put your content in the HTML editor. Use the menu to change the layout of your content. You can also use the Source tab in the menu to tweak the layout if you know how to code with HTML. Save changes when you are done;
6. Click Show SEO And Advanced Options. Make sure to add a relevant description and keywords about the page so that search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) can index your page. Click the Sitemap option too so that your new page can be added to your sitemap. (Skip this option if you don't want this particular page to be indexed by Search engines) ;
7. When you are done, click the Save Changes button to finish the process;
After this process, there is an icon you can click to clone your custom page:
The page is cloned and you can edit the information you need:
