With the release of eDirectory version 13.6, two new banner ad formats have been added to enhance the customization and visual appeal of your site:

  1. Billboard Banner (970 x 250)
  2. Half-Page Banner (300 x 600)

These new banner sizes give advertisers more flexibility and provide site owners with better tools for engaging visitors and improving their site layout. Here's how to take full advantage of these new formats.

How to Add a Billboard Banner (970 x 250)


The Billboard Banner format is designed for high-impact advertising, prominently displayed using its own widget.

Steps to Add a Billboard Banner

  1. Navigate to Content > Banners.
  2. Click on "Add Banner."
  3. Select the Billboard type.
  4. Upload the banner image in the required dimensions (970 x 250 pixels).


How to Display the Billboard Banner on a Page


The Billboard Banner requires the "Billboard Banner" widget to display it on a page. Follow these steps to configure it:

  1. Go to Design > Page Editor.
  2. Select the page where you want the banner to appear and click to edit it.
     
  3. Click to add a widget > Banner then select the "Billboard Banner" widget.
  4. Save your changes, and the banner will appear on the chosen page.

How to Add a Half-Page Banner (300 x 600)

The Half-Page Banner is another powerful ad format designed to be displayed inside various existing widgets.


Steps to Add a Half-Page Banner

  1. Navigate to Content > Banners.
  2. Click on "Add a Banner."
  3. Select the Half-Page Banner type.
  4. Upload the banner image in the correct dimensions (300 x 600 pixels). 


Where Half-Page Banners Are Displayed


Unlike the Billboard Banner, the Half-Page Banner does not have a dedicated widget. Instead, it is displayed inside specific widgets.


Steps to Configure Widgets to Display Half-Page Banners:

  1. Go to Design > Page Editor.
  2. Select a page where you want the banner to display and click to edit it.
  3. Click to edit one of the following widgets:
    • Horizontal Cards
    • Browse by Category
    • Browse by Location
  4. Enable the option to display Half-Page Banners.
  5. Save your changes.

Half-Page Banners can be displayed in the following widgets:

  • Browse by Locations
  • Featured Categories
  • Featured Categories with Images
  • Recent Reviews
  • Horizontal Cards
  • Vertical Cards

Important Notes

  • Banner Widgets and Content Addition:
    The widget is not where you add a banner; it is used to display banners that you’ve already added. To upload a banner, always go to Content > Banners.

  • Image Hosting for Banners:
    Ensure the banner images meet the required dimensions and are visually optimized to maintain the quality of your site’s layout.
