Introduction


When the sponsors of your eDirectory website post deals, they can create either random or unique redeem codes. This allows them to control how customers redeem their offers. Below, we will learn how to configure this setting.


Choosing Between Random and Unique Redeem Codes


This feature can be managed by both the sponsor (deal owner) and the site manager (sitemgr).

When editing a deal in the sponsor area, you have three options:

  1. Generate a random code for each redeem – The system will automatically generate a different code for every redemption.

  2. Use a unique code for all redeems – You can set a single custom code that will be used by all customers who redeem the deal.

Steps to Define the Redeem Code Options

  1. Log in to the sponsor area.

  2. Navigate to the Deals section and add a deal or select the deal you want to edit.

  3. On the deal edit page, locate the field labeled “Redeem Code Options”.

  4. Choose one of the following:

    • To use a random redeem code, keep the default setting “Generate a random code for each redeem”.

    • To use a custom redeem code, select “Use a unique code for all redeems” and enter your preferred code in the provided field.

If you choose to define a custom code, enter a name such as SAVE10 or SUMMER2024. This code will be visible to customers on the deal redemption page, once they click to redeem the deal.
