Sorting your Listings, Events, Classifieds, Articles and Blog Modules in Categories help your clients easily search for the products or services they need. eDirectory helps you create these categories and manage them in the Site Manager.
In this article, we’ll teach you how to Edit and Manage your Categories. If you want to learn how to add a “New Category”, please, click here.
To edit a category, please, follow the steps below:
1. Please log in to your Site Manager Administration Panel and go to Content Manager
2. Then, click the module with the category you’d like to edit
3. Next, go to “Categories”
4. At Categories, find the category you’d like to edit and then, click at the “pencil”
5. A Pop Up will open. Please, click on “Advanced Options”
6. In “Advanced Options” you’ll be able to add images, content, and SEO configuration for your category. Make the changes you wish and then, hit “Save Changes”
Notice: If you would like the category to be displayed on the Home page, check the box "Featured" shown above. The category will only be displayed if this option is checked, and also if it is associated with a listing.
Another way to manage your Categories is by adding Subcategories. To add subcategories, please, follow the step by step below:
1. Please log in to your Site Manager Administration Panel and go to Content Manager
2. Then, click the module with the category you’d to add a subcategory
3. Next, go to “Categories”
4. At Categories, find the category you’d like to add a subcategory and then, click at the “+”
5. A Pop-Up will open. You need to add the Title for your category (Example: “Culture”). If what you're adding is a subcategory, you can also select the Parent category. You can add “Advanced Information” to your subcategories such as add images, content, and SEO configuration if you’d like
6. Next, hit save changes
Notice: Once a subcategory is created, it is not possible to move it to a parent category or to another category level.
You can also delete categories.
1. Please log in to your Site Manager Administration Panel and go to Content Manager
2. Then, click the module with the category you’d to delete
3. Next, go to “Categories”
4. At Categories, find the category you’d like to delete and then, click at the “trash can”
Notice: Deleted categories cannot be reverted.
